The revival web
i've been enjoying the revival web ever since i started getting into it. it's a lot more fun than to doom scroll on social medias and hoping from one to another for the sake of content. but what caused me to get hooked into all of this? you may ask. well, it's a few factors that ultimetly made me realize how rotten the internet actually is in recent years. and hopefully, i can convince those who aren't yet a part of it to join and experience something truly awsome.
so what's the revival web? also known as "personal web" is basically a corner of the intertet where people create their own websites where you can express yourself however you want, interact with other people and create mini comunities on topic that they like, kinda like how it was prior to the arrival of big centrilazed social medias. if you want more details about it, here's a link to
melon's introduccion to the web revival movement.
but the main reason i learned about all of this was trough a video made by a youtuber name Shadok on ther web series "loveweb", more specifically, their video called
"The Web has lost its Soul".when i saw that video, it opened my mind about how horrible the internet has become. it also talked about neocites, a plataform where anyone can host their websites for free, which gets rid of the main issue of trying to make a personal web, which is most hosting services are unrealistically expensive. but there are multyple ways of doing it for free and neocities is one of them.
I highly recommend whatching their videos and supporting them, the show is legit underrated.
while it's impossible to expect everyone to just abandom the convinience of social medias, i at least hope to have enlightened some of you on giving it a try and to experience something unique that you won't see anywhere else
